description: The is the final movement of Starer’s dramatic oratorio based on the prophecies of Isaiah regarding Jerusalem. It was commissioned by the Interracial Fellowship Chorus of New York in 1959. “Break forth into Joy” is a celebration in quick tempo with syncopated rhythms. The fugue in the middle section is followed by a recapitulation of the opening and an accelerating coda.
